About Drywall Repair Brooklyn

We repair, hang and finish drywall inside homes and rental units across Brooklyn. Before any work starts, you get the scope and the price factors written out. The job you agree to is the job we do, with no add-ons showing up halfway through.

How we approach a damaged wall

Most drywall damage has a cause behind it. A crack running up from the corner of a door frame usually points to movement at that joint, not a bad patch. A bubbled ceiling seam often traces back to moisture that loosened the paper tape. We look for the cause first, because a patch over an unsolved problem tends to crack again in the same spot.

Then we write it down. Your quote lists the area involved and whether we are patching, cutting out and replacing a section, or hanging new board. It notes how many coats of joint compound the finish needs and whether texture matching or a paint touch-up is part of the job. If we open a wall and find something the quote did not cover, such as damaged blocking or a wet stud bay, we stop and show you before anything changes.

Many walls we see are older plaster on wood or metal lath, with drywall added during later renovations. The two materials move differently and take compound differently. So we pick setting-type or premixed compound, mesh or paper tape, and the patch method based on what is actually behind the paint.

What you can expect from us

  1. 01

    Scope in writing first

Every job starts with a written quote that names the work and what moves the price: size of the damage, access, ceiling height, finish level and texture. You approve it before we begin.

  2. 02

    No quiet add-ons

If conditions change once a wall is open, we tell you what we found and put the change in writing. Nothing goes on your bill without your yes.

  3. 03

    A clean work area

Sanding joint compound makes fine dust that travels. We cover floors, mask doorways and protect furniture, then clean up at the end of each day so the room stays usable.

  4. 04

    Repairs that stop showing

We feather compound well past the edge of the patch, sand between coats and check the surface under raking light. Once primed and touched up, the repair should blend into the wall around it.
